How to Make Homemade Soy Milk: Vanilla and Chocolate Flavor

Ingredients:

¼ kg of soybeans

2 Liters of Mineral Water

100 grams of brown or white sugar

1 tablespoon of vanilla extract (for vanilla flavor)

25 grams of cocoa powder (for chocolate flavor)

Necessary Equipment:

Blender

Cheese clothe

Small sieve or strainer

Bottle Container

Procedure:

Step 1

To make the soybeans larger and softer, submerge them in water for 9 hours. Then wash it two or more times until the water is clear.

Step 2

Put the clean soybeans in the blender and add 2 liters of mineral water, then start blending them.

Step 3

Put the cheesecloth in the bowl, and for extraction, pour the blended soybeans into the cheesecloth in the bowl and squeeze it to extract all the juices. After extraction, using the sieve, remove the bubbles on the top of the extracted soybeans.

Step 4

Boil the juices of soybeans on medium to high heat and stir them from time to time to prevent the bottom part from burning. While stirring it, you will observe that bubbles are appearing at the top. Just remove the bubbles using a sieve or strainer.

Step 5

For Vanilla Soy Milk Flavor:

When the soy milk is already boiling, add the vanilla extract and white sugar, then mix it for 5 to 6 minutes.

For Chocolate Soy Milk Flavor:

Add cocoa powder instead of vanilla extract.

Step 6

Cool down the soy milk after cooking. To know that the soy milk has been cooked properly, you will see the skin on the top of the cooled-down soy milk

Pour the soy milk into the bottled container. It can last in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days, and you can freeze it to make it last for 2 to 3 months. Enjoy your fresh and clean homemade soy milk.
